About the role
You’ll be at the heart of creating immersive, interactive experiences that captivate and inspire young players. As a Unity Game Developer, you’ll develop engaging gameplay mechanics, implement animations and UI, and collaborate with artists, and fellow developers to bring magical worlds to life.
From prototyping fresh ideas to ensuring seamless gameplay across devices, your work will shape games that strike the perfect balance between fun and learning. Whether fine-tuning character interactions, debugging mechanics, or refining user experiences, you’ll have a direct impact on how young audiences engage with our games.
This is more than just coding - it’s about storytelling, creativity, and innovation, crafting meaningful, playful experiences that leave a lasting impression.
What you'll be doing
- Developing engaging gameplay mechanics in Unity, ensuring smooth, responsive, and interactive experiences.
- Implementing player interactions that align with the game’s creative vision.
- Optimising game performance to run seamlessly across mobile, browser, and other platforms.
- Collaborating with game designers, artists, and fellow developers to bring ideas to life and refine gameplay.
- Debugging and fine-tuning features to enhance the player experience and ensure top-quality gameplay.
- Integrating educational and child-friendly gameplay elements, striking the perfect balance between fun and learning.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest Unity and game development trends, bringing fresh ideas and innovative solutions to the team.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in Unity and C# game programming, with a strong grasp of game mechanics, physics.
- Experience working with UI systems, animations, and scripting to create intuitive and visually appealing interactions.
- An understanding of mobile and browser-based game optimisation, ensuring smooth performance across different platforms.
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and refine features to improve gameplay and user experience.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, working closely with designers, artists, and other developers to bring ideas to life.
- A passion for creating games for young audiences, with an appreciation for how play can be both fun and educational.
- Bonus points if you have experience with Unreal or AI systems.

Things to know
Some of the project work you'll be doing is funded by Innovate UK, which comes with a regional requirement. As a result, this role is open to applicants who are based in Coventry and Warwickshire or those willing to relocate.
If you're not currently in the area but are open to relocating, we'd love to hear from you. Please confirm in your application if you'd be happy to relocate if successful.
There is the need to travel from time to time to attend client and company meetings.
